FTC Disclosure
We are going to try to make our privacy policy as simple and upfront as possible:
Beginning December 1, 2009, the FTC requires bloggers to disclose whenever there could be hidden interests or unspoken biases related to recommendations.
Per the FTC rules, if we stay in a hotel and they pay for us to stay free, we would need to disclose that. Ditto if we use an Amazon link that gets us 8 cents instead of an Amazon link that gets me us cents. If a company gives us some cool travel gear to use and promote, same thing. Disclaimers everywhere.
This would be tedious for us and even more tedious for readers. But rules are rules. To cover our butts and preserve your reading experience, please assume that, for every link and product I use, the following all hold true:
- We got fed and/or paid
- We got some sweet new tech
- We got to try something for free
Thank you to Tim Ferriss for providing the majority of the language on this page (I’m a huge fan)
